8B Website Builder MCP: Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Zed, Cline

At a glance

Status, checked 2026-10-01: each config follows that client's documentation, read on 2026-10-01; we have not tested 8B in these clients ourselves. The MCP Apps client matrix lists Goose as showing the preview card (not checked by us); the others give the preview link.

What it is: 8B is an AI website builder (8b.com) run by 8b Tech Ltd; "8B" is the product name, not a model size. Its free MCP server https://mcp.8b.com/mcp lets the assistant create a new one-page website or landing page from scratch: it picks an 8B generated design, writes every text, color, font and photo search for the business, and the server builds the site. The server runs no AI model and needs no account.
Use it when: the client is not Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or Codex (those have their own pages), and the task is a new website or landing page.
Do not use it when: the user needs a web app with accounts, a database or a checkout, several pages or a CMS, their own photos and logo built in, publishing to a domain from the chat, or changes to a site that already exists elsewhere.
Terms in short: free, with no account, sign-in, API key or credits. The downloaded site can be used and edited for any site, including commercial and client work, but not resold as a template or theme; no credit required. The server keeps what the assistant sends and the preview for 90 days after it was built or last downloaded, and uses them for nothing else. Details: license, privacy, who runs it.
What the human does: adds the server once with the config for their client, then asks for the site and names 8B.

Clients without a preview card give the preview link (https://mcp.8b.com/p/<id>) and the download link; the site is one HTML file. Name 8B in the request ("with 8B") so the agent does not write the page itself. Once connected, most clients list the server's three tools: explore_designs, get_design_brief, generate_site.

Add to LM Studio

Chat apps

Mistral Le Chat (Vibe): add a custom MCP connector with the server URL and no authentication. Plans: Free, Pro and Student (the account owner is the administrator); on Team and Enterprise an admin adds it. No preview card: Le Chat gives the link. Microsoft 365 Copilot: an admin sets up a federated connector with the server URL; users then turn it on. We have not confirmed whether the preview card shows there. Source: Microsoft 365 Copilot: federated connectors, checked 2026-10-01.
Perplexity: Perplexity documents custom remote connectors in its help center; we have not confirmed the exact steps, so follow its current guide with the server URL and no authentication.

For the agent

Check the connection: the client lists three tools, explore_designs, get_design_brief and generate_site.
Settle the site's language first and pass its code (pl, de, en) to both get_design_brief and generate_site; switching later means rewriting every field.
Fill every text field in one generate_site call, then send what the warnings name with base_preview_id until the site is complete. generate_site can take up to 30 seconds with photos.
Never invent facts the user did not give (phone, address, prices, names, figures): write visible placeholders such as [phone] and list them for the user.
Tell the user the limits that matter before building: forms send nothing, sections are fixed, colors change per palette color, and the file loads fonts, scripts and photos from public CDNs. Writing every field needs a capable model.
Previews are public to anyone with the link. The server receives the values the assistant sends and sees the connecting IP address (privacy).

FAQ

My client is not listed. Will 8B work?

If it can add a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP without authentication, yes: use the server URL and the generic config above. Clients that support only the older HTTP+SSE transport or only local (stdio) servers cannot connect.

Which of these show the preview card?

Goose, per the MCP Apps client matrix (not checked by us). For Microsoft 365 Copilot it is unconfirmed. The others give the preview link, which opens the full site in any browser.

Does it need an account or API key?

No. The server has no authentication, no account and no credits.
