Five lanes to a licence.

Every learner moves through the same five stages. How long each one takes is up to you; the hours below are what our learners usually need.

  1. 01

    Controls

An empty car park, walking pace, nobody watching. Clutch, steering and mirrors until they feel boring.

    4–6 hours
  2. 02

    Town roads

Junctions, roundabouts, cyclists and the school run, one new thing at a time.

    8–12 hours
  3. 03

    Faster roads

Dual carriageways, the motorway, driving at night and in proper Manchester rain.

    6–10 hours
  4. 04

    Mock tests

Real test routes, a real marking sheet and honest feedback on every minor.

    2–4 hours
  5. 05

    Test day

A warm-up drive in the car you learned in, and your instructor waiting outside.

    2 hours

One price. Everything in the car.

Your lesson price covers the dual-control car, fuel, insurance, pick-up and drop-off, and the theory app.

Our cars

  • Parking sensors
  • Manual or automatic
  • Two electric cars
  • A mirror for your instructor
  • The car you take your test in

Instructors

The calm voice in the passenger seat.

Four instructors, all approved by the DVSA, all chosen first for patience. Pick the one who sounds like you, or simply the one who is free.

Pick-up zone

We come to you.

Lessons start and end wherever you are: home, college or work, anywhere in these twenty-four districts. Each district is coloured by its nearest test centre, so you practise on the roads your test will use.

Nervous?

Most of our learners are. Sweaty palms at the first junction are normal, and we plan every first lesson around them.

Good.

Nerves mean you are paying attention. We start in an empty car park, at walking pace, with nobody watching but us.

Let’s go.

When you are ready, and not a minute before, we head for real roads. Your instructor's pedals are there the whole way.

How we teach

We speak human.

Driving comes with its own jargon. Your instructor translates it before you need it, and never uses a word twice without checking you know it.

Mirror, signal, manoeuvre
Look, tell everyone, then go.
Biting point
The moment the car wants to move.
Hazard perception
Spotting trouble before it happens.
Road positioning
Where your car sits in its lane.
Controlled stop
Brake hard, stay straight, stay calm.

Recent passes

Passed. Recently.

Eighty-one of our learners passed this year, fifty-eight of them first time. Here are a few of them, the week they got their licence.

  • A young woman leaning out of the driver's window, smiling
  • Friends celebrating around a red car
  • A woman laughing in the driver's seat of a white car
  • A smiling driver with sunglasses and a lanyard at the wheel
  • A young woman looking out of a car window at sunset
  • A woman with glasses resting her chin on her hand in the driver's seat
  • A driver in a cap smiling with one hand on the wheel
  • A young woman holding the steering wheel, looking out of the window
