From first look to final certificate

Every job runs the same three steps, whether it is one socket or a whole house, with the same small team from the first call to the last test.

  1. We come and look

A free visit of about forty minutes. We test what is there, listen to what you want and note anything that changes the price.

  2. You get one fixed price

An itemised quote within two working days. No day rates, and nothing added halfway through unless you ask for it.

  3. We fit, test and sign off

Tidy work, tested circuit by circuit, with your certificate emailed before we drive away.

Room by room

Most calls start with one room. Here is what we do in each of them, from a single extra socket to a full rewire while you live in the house.

  1. Kitchen

Extra sockets at worktop height, lighting under the cabinets and a circuit of its own for the oven and the hob.

  2. Bathroom

Quiet extractor fans, shaver points, heated towel rails and lit mirrors, all placed by the zones that keep water and power apart.

  3. Living rooms

Dimmers, wall lights, cables hidden behind a mounted television and a data point where the router actually needs to be.

  4. Outside

Garden and path lighting, outdoor sockets, and power to a shed or a garden office on its own buried cable.

  5. Garage and drive

Car chargers, garage circuits and the supply upgrade a heat pump or a workshop needs before anything is plugged in.

  6. The fuse board

A modern board with protection on every circuit, so one fault switches off one room instead of the whole house.

We leave the place tidier than we found it

  • Floors covered from the door in

Dust sheets and boot covers go down before the first tool comes out of the van.

  • Every chase filled and sanded

Cuts in the plaster are filled and sanded flush, ready for paint rather than for another trade.

  • Hoovered before we go

Offcuts, boxes and dust leave with us, so the rooms go back to being rooms each evening.

Car chargers, solar panels and home batteries, fitted by the same team that checks your supply first. We size the charger to your house, not to a brochure.

  • A 7 kW charger matched to your supply
  • Load balancing, so the car and the oven can share
  • Off-peak charging set up on your phone before we leave
  • Ready for solar and a battery whenever you are

Landlord certificates without the chasing

A rented home needs an electrical condition report every five years. We book around your tenants, test everything on the list and send the report to you and your agent the same day.

Questions we get asked at the door

Something else? Call 0114 000 0000 and whoever answers can usually tell you straight away.

Do you charge for the first visit?

No. The visit and the written quote are free, and there is no obligation to book the work.

Are you registered and insured?

Yes. Work that has to be notified to building control is notified by us, every job comes with its certificate, and we carry five million pounds of public liability cover.

Can we stay in the house during a rewire?

Most families do. We work room by room, keep power on in the rooms you use each night and plan the kitchen and bathroom days with you.

Will you make good after cutting into walls?

Yes. Chases and holes are filled and sanded flush, ready for paint. We do not decorate, but we can recommend people who do.

Which areas do you cover?

Sheffield and the villages around it, out to Hathersage, Stocksbridge and Dronfield. Ask if you are a little further out.

Can you work alongside my builder or kitchen fitter?

Often. We do the first fix before the plasterer, come back for the second fix and talk to your other trades directly, so you do not have to carry messages.

Lights out at 2 a.m.?

One of us answers the out-of-hours line, not a call centre. Most callouts in Sheffield are reached within the hour, and we make the house safe before we talk about anything else.
