Sweat like it’s 1986

A group fitness studio in Leeds: step, dance, box, skate and stretch classes to the loudest playlist in town.

A smiling woman in black workout kit mid-jump, knees tucked, against a pale pink backdrop

Fifty minutes.One loud room.Zero judgement.

Every class is built like a good mixtape: an easy start, a chorus you can’t sit still through, and a slow one to finish. Come as you are, leave a bit louder.

Every class runs fifty minutes or less, every level is welcome, and every coach will show you the easy version first.

  1. 50 min · All levels

The original: a low platform, eight-count combos and the songs your parents danced to.

    Step & Sweat

A group of women stepping forward together across a sunlit wooden studio floor
  2. 45 min · Medium

Simple routines built up four moves at a time. Nobody’s watching; everyone’s grinning.

    Dance Cardio

A class holding a balance pose in front of a wall painted with orange and teal triangles
  3. 50 min · High

Pads, gloves and three-minute rounds. Hit hard, breathe out, repeat.

Two women working on boxing pads, one in blue gloves laughing
  4. 60 min · Medium

Balance, glide and core work on quad skates. Skates and pads to borrow at the desk.

    Skate Fit

A quad roller skate seen from below against a wall of bright stripes
  5. 45 min · Medium

Light dumbbells, lots of reps and a beat that keeps you honest.

    Pump

A woman in blue leggings pressing two pink dumbbells forward by a big window
  6. 30 min · High

Ropes, hops and short sprints. Half an hour that feels like a full set.

    Jump

A woman skipping with a rope in front of a blue gym wall
  7. 40 min · Easy

Long holds and slow breathing to put everything back where it was.

    Stretch & Unwind

Three women in a triangle pose on pink mats in a bright wooden studio

The fifty-minute arc

Whatever the class and whatever the music, every hour at Highkick has the same shape, so you always know how much is left in the tank.

  1. 0–10 min

    Warm-up

Marching, step-touches, big arm circles. Your heart rate climbs slowly.

  2. 10–25 min

    Build

The combinations stack up: four moves, then eight, then the whole routine.

  3. 25–40 min

    Peak

The chorus: top tempo, biggest moves, the song everyone shouts.

  4. 40–50 min

    Cool-down

Slow tracks, long stretches and one last big breath together.

One big loud room

The whole first floor of an old wool mill, painted in triangles and built for jumping.

Floor
Sprung maple, kind to knees and ankles.
Mirrors
On two walls, so you see the coach from any spot.
Sound
A proper speaker stack, loud but never painful.
Air
Big windows and ceiling fans keep the peak bearable.
Changing
Showers, lockers and hair dryers, free with every class.
Spots
32 a class, bookable seven days ahead.
A dance class moving across the studio in front of the triangle-painted wall
A dancer in black holding a low lunge on the wooden floor
A class reaching both arms up on mats under tall windows
Students holding a warrior pose with their arms stretched wide
