Independent since 1987, and still nobody's branch
Margaret Hale opened this counter in 1987 with one dispensing bench and one rule: whoever is unwell gets the next free pharmacist, not the next free till. When she retired, three chains offered to buy the shop. Sami and I bought it instead, from the person who trained us both.
Nothing here is decided by a head office. We stock what our patients ask for, keep the clinic room open on Saturdays, and Biscuit, Margaret's dog, still sleeps on the counter in the afternoons. If something here could be better, tell me at the counter.
