Before you jump
The questions the front desk hears most, answered once and properly.
How tall do I need to be for the big slides?
The Kraken and Corkscrew need 1.3 metres, most other tower slides 1.2. There is a measuring post at the bottom of every staircase, and staff at the top check again.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes. Picnics are welcome on the terrace and in the family area; please leave glass at home. The café does hot food and coffee from 10:00.
Do children need an adult in the water?
Under-eights need one adult in the water for every two children. Under-twelves can swim on their own as long as an adult is in the building.
Can I pause my season band?
Yes. Injury, illness, exams or a new baby: email the desk and we freeze it for up to eight weeks a season.
How warm is the water?
The lagoon and the slide pools sit at 30 °C, the hot pool at 34 °C. The roof opens on warm days and closes when it rains.
Is the park step-free?
From the car park to the poolside, yes, with a pool hoist, a changing places room and free entry for carers.
Forty lifeguards. Eyes on every lane.
There is a guard at the bottom of every slide and two on the wave pool at all times. The water is tested every hour, and the numbers go up on the board by the gate.
Dougie Reid
Head lifeguard
Twenty-two summers on the stand. Spots a tired swimmer from across the wave pool.
Hana Kovač
Slide marshal
Runs the top of the tower: one rider at a time, no exceptions, plenty of jokes.
Tomás Ferreira
Swim school lead
Has taught three thousand children to float, and a few of their parents.
Jill Hartley
Water quality
Tests every pool on the hour and writes the numbers on the board by the gate.
