Board game café
Nobody here has to read a rulebook. Tell a guide who is at the table and how long you have, and you'll be playing in ten minutes — whether it's your first game since Monopoly or your fortieth campaign night.
The library
Ask for a shelf, not a title. A guide pulls three boxes that fit your group, and every game is counted back after it's played, so nothing is missing a piece.
Head to head, twenty minutes to an hour.
Five to ten players, lots of shouting.
Two to four hours, a quiet room upstairs.
Rules in five minutes, fun for seven-year-olds.
Table guides
There is a guide in every room. They have played everything on the shelves at least twice, and teaching you is part of the table fee.
How many of you, how long you've got, and whether anyone has played anything heavier than snap.
Your guide brings three boxes that fit your table. Nobody has to browse seven hundred spines.
They set up, explain the goal in a minute and play the opening turns with you until it clicks.
Every table has one. Stand it up when a rule starts an argument and a guide comes over to settle it.

Book a nightThe kitchen
Nothing drips, nothing needs a knife, and it comes to the table between turns. The cards stay clean; so do you.
Private hire
The back room seats twenty-four at one table: birthdays, team nights, a whole club's campaign weekend. You get the room, a guide for the evening and a games list built for your group before you arrive.
Prototype night
A playable draft — paper, pens and sticky tape are fine — and a one-line pitch we can read to the room.
A table for the evening, six players who have never seen your game and a free coffee for the designer.
Email your pitch by Monday. We take four games each Thursday, first come, first served.
Regulars' card
£35 a year, paid once at the counter. The card lives on the board by the door, so you never have to remember it.
Walk-ins are welcome on weekdays. Book for Friday and Saturday evenings, and for groups of six or more.
As long as you like: the table fee covers the whole day. On busy evenings we ask big groups to keep to four hours.
That is what the guides are for, and it is included in the table fee. Ask as often as you like.
Yes. Under-12s pay £3, Saturday mornings are set aside for families and the first-timers shelf is full of games for seven-year-olds.
Of course. The table fee is the same, and a guide will help you set it up.
Tell us when you order. The kitchen keeps gluten-free bread and vegan cheese, and the full allergen list is at the counter.
The ground floor, the toilets and the long table room are step-free. The quiet room upstairs is reached by stairs.
