Square tiles, glazed by hand, laid by the thousand.
Inset presses and glazes square tiles in Valencia: thirteen glazes, four inlays, one shape. Pair a frame with a core and lay a floor nobody else has.
Every tile is three squares.
A glazed frame, a ring of bare clay and an inlaid core. We press each tile by hand, pour the frame, set the core and fire both together at 1,200 °C, so two glazes share one tile and never run into each other.

Every glaze is mixed in the studio and tested on its own tile before it reaches yours. Pick one for the frame and one for the core: 169 pairs, none of them shy.

The fourteenth colour is the clay itself: every ring stays bare and fires white.
One tile, four floors.
A Raspberry frame around a Cobalt core, and the same tile glazed inside out. Turn some of them over and the room changes: four layouts from one box of tiles.

Choose the frame, the core and how much of the core shows. The floor is laid with your tile as you choose.
Your tile
Fern frame, Marigold core, square inlay, 15 × 15 cm.
From wet clay to a loud floor.
-
Step 1
Press
White stoneware clay is pressed into a steel frame, one tile at a time, and trimmed square while it is still soft.
-
Step 2
Dry
Ten days on open racks. The clay loses its water slowly and evenly, so the tile stays flat and the edges stay sharp.
-
Step 3
Pour the frame
The frame glaze goes on through a mask. Raw, it looks chalky and pale; nobody can tell Signal from Raspberry yet.
-
Step 4
Set the core
The core glaze is laid in a second pass, with the ring left bare. Dot, square or full: the mask decides how much shows.
-
Step 5
Fire
Twelve hours up to 1,200 °C and a day to cool. The kiln turns chalk into colour, and the bare ring comes out white.
Laid in kitchens, pools and cafés.
Six rooms from the last two years. Each caption names the tiles, so you can order the same floor or swap one glaze.

Can Inset tiles go outside?
Yes. Stoneware fired at 1,200 °C takes frost and sun. For outdoor floors and pool edges we fire the R11 non-slip finish, which mutes the glaze a little; ask for it with your samples.
How much should I order?
Your area plus 10% for cuts, 15% for a diagonal or a room with many corners. Every batch is fired once, so order the spares now: a later firing can differ by a shade.
How long does an order take?
Three to five weeks depending on the size, from the day you approve the proof tile. Delivery in Spain takes two days, across Europe four to six by pallet.
Can you mix a glaze that is not on the list?
For orders over 40 m² we match a colour you send us. It takes three test firings and adds two weeks; the glaze then joins your account for later orders.
How do I clean them?
Warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner. The glaze is sealed by the firing; the bare ring is vitrified too, so it needs no sealant and does not stain.
Do you lay the tiles?
No, but we send a laying plan with every order and work with tilers in Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid whom we can recommend.
Come and see them fired.
The showroom sits next to the kiln. Bring a photo of your room and leave with a laying plan.
