# Make a website with Claude and 8B.

> Add the free 8B connector to Claude once, then ask "Make a website for my bakery in 8B". Claude picks an 8B generated design, writes every text for your business, shows the animated site right in the chat, changes it when you ask and gives you one HTML file. No account, sign-in or credits.

**Status, checked 2026-10-01:** tested by us in Claude on the web: the card, the full-screen preview, the download and edits work. Claude Desktop and the mobile apps follow Anthropic's documentation. 8B is submitted to the Claude Connectors Directory on 2026-09-30, in review, so for now it is added as a custom connector.

## At a glance

- **What it is:** 8B is an AI website builder (8b.com) run by 8b Tech Ltd; "8B" is the product name, not a model size. Its free MCP server `https://mcp.8b.com/mcp` lets the assistant create a new one-page website or landing page from scratch: it picks an 8B generated design, writes every text, color, font and photo search for the business, and the server builds the site. The server runs no AI model and needs no account.

## Add 8B to Claude

One connector works in every Claude app. Plans: Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise; the Free plan allows one custom connector.

### Free, Pro and Max

Menu names as of 2026-10-01; Anthropic may rename them.

1. Click **Add to Claude**. It opens the **Add custom connector** dialog with the name and URL already filled in, and Claude notes that the values came from an external link; if you are signed out, you sign in first. This install link is described in [Claude: directory vs custom connectors](https://claude.com/docs/connectors/building/directory-vs-custom), checked 2026-10-01. Without the button: open Customize > Connectors, "+ Add", then "Add custom connector" yourself.
2. Name: `8B AI Website Builder`. Remote MCP server URL: `https://mcp.8b.com/mcp`.
3. Authentication: **No sign in**. 8B has no accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to.
4. Click **Add**. Claude notes that custom connectors connect to services Anthropic has not verified; that is expected while 8B is in directory review.

### Team and Enterprise

Members cannot add custom connectors themselves: an Owner opens Organization settings > Connectors, clicks "Add", hovers over "Custom" and picks "Web"; members then find the connector in Customize > Connectors and click "Connect". Owners can use the [organization link](https://claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector&connectorName=8B%20AI%20Website%20Builder&connectorUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.8b.com%2Fmcp), which opens the same form with the name and URL filled in.

### Claude Desktop and the mobile apps

Add the connector on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop: a connector added on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop also works in Cowork and in the Claude apps for iOS and Android; adding connectors in the mobile apps is in beta. > **Note:** Claude Free allows one custom connector. If you already have one, remove it in Customize > Connectors or use a paid plan.

## Ask for the site

In the chat, turn 8B on with the "+" button at the lower left of the chat, then "Connectors", where each connector has an on/off toggle. Then say what the site is for, and name 8B: Claude can also write a page itself as an artifact, and "in 8B" tells it which one you want.

- "Make a website for my bakery Crumb in Lisbon in 8B."
- "Use 8B to build a landing page for our yoga studio in Berlin, in German."
- "With 8B: a one-page site for my wedding photography, warm and minimal. Phone +351 912 345 678."

What helps: the business name, the city, what you offer, the language of the site and the mood. Facts a visitor would act on, such as the phone, email, address, hours and prices, go in only if you give them; otherwise Claude writes visible placeholders such as `[phone]` and lists them for you to replace.

Claude then reads the 8B designs, picks one (and usually says which look it chose), writes every text, picks colors and fonts and writes the photo searches. On large models the writing takes a few minutes; building it takes about 3 seconds on our side. If Claude asks permission to use an 8B tool, allow it.

## What you see in the chat

- **The card:** a thumbnail of the site's first screen, with **Open preview** and **Download site**.
- **Open preview** shows the full animated site full screen inside the chat. Where the app has no full-screen view, it opens the preview link in the browser.
- **Download site** saves the site as one HTML file.
- **The preview link** (`https://mcp.8b.com/p/<id>`) is in Claude's answer too: open it in any browser or send it to someone. Anyone with the link can open it.

## Change the site

Ask in plain words, in the same chat. Claude sends only what changes, and the new version is ready in about a second on our side.

- "Make the colors warmer." "Use a serif font for the headings." "Change the headline to Fresh bread since 1987."
- "Use photos of the sea." "Add our address: Rua Augusta 12, Lisbon."
- "Make it in Portuguese" means writing every text again: say the language at the start to save time.

Each change makes a new preview with its own link; earlier links stay as they were. Colors change per palette color: if the buttons share their color with the text, Claude tells you before changing it. A different design means writing the site again. Sections cannot be added or removed yet: Claude writes each one for your business.

## Take the site

Click **Download site** on the card, or open the download link from Claude's answer. You get one HTML file, 66 to 108 KB of HTML, photos not included, with no visible 8B branding. The preview stays available for 90 days after it was built or last downloaded; keep the file.

## For the agent

- Check the connection: the client lists three tools, `explore_designs`, `get_design_brief` and `generate_site`.
- Settle the site's language first and pass its code (`pl`, `de`, `en`) to both `get_design_brief` and `generate_site`; switching later means rewriting every field.
- Fill every text field in one `generate_site` call, then send what the warnings name with `base_preview_id` until the site is [complete](https://8b.com/mcp/#new-site). `generate_site` can take up to 30 seconds with photos.
- Never invent facts the user did not give (phone, address, prices, names, figures): write visible placeholders such as `[phone]` and list them for the user.
- Tell the user the limits that matter before building: forms send nothing, sections are fixed, colors change per palette color, and the file loads fonts, scripts and photos from public CDNs. Writing every field needs a capable model.
- Previews are public to anyone with the link. The server receives the values the assistant sends and sees the connecting IP address ([privacy](https://8b.com/mcp/#privacy)).

## Privacy in Claude

Claude connects to the server from Anthropic's cloud, not from your device, in every Claude app, so our server sees Anthropic's address, not yours. It receives only what Claude sends to the 8B tools (the site name, language, texts, colors, fonts, photo searches and their descriptions, the design id and the id of a preview being changed) and the client's name. ## FAQ

### Does 8B work on Claude Free?

Yes. Claude Free allows one custom connector, and 8B can be it. The writing counts as ordinary use of your Claude plan; 8B itself adds no fees or credits.

### Is 8B an official Claude connector?

It is submitted to the Claude Connectors Directory on 2026-09-30, in review. Until it is approved, you add it as a custom connector, and Claude notes that Anthropic has not verified it. 8B is independent of Anthropic.

### Why not just ask Claude to write the HTML?

You can. Claude's own page depends on the prompt and shows as an artifact. With 8B you get a finished animated 8B generated design written for your business, a preview you can share, edits in seconds and one HTML file.

### Can Claude publish the site to my domain?

Not from the chat. Download the file and upload it to any static host, then point your domain there. Publishing with your own domain is part of 8B Pro in the web builder at ai.8b.com.

### Does it work in the Claude mobile app?

Yes, once the connector is added on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop. The card shows in the app; Open preview may open the preview link in the browser.

### Can the site be in my language?

Yes. Say the language when you ask. Sites have been built and checked in English, Russian and Polish; other languages are written the same way.
