A contemporary dance house for every body: open classes all week, a small touring company and two daylight studios by the harbour.
Every class starts the same way: stand still, breathe, notice what the body already knows. Everything after that is play — floor work, partnering, improvisation, and a fair amount of laughing at ourselves.
Drop in on a single ticket or use a pass. Open classes welcome every level; labs and repertory ask for about a year of practice.
Weight, breath and falling safely — the grammar every other class is built on.
BookSpirals, slides and rolls that teach the floor to catch you instead of stop you.
BookScores, games and live music. No steps to learn, plenty to notice.
BookSharing weight, lifting without strength and listening through the skin.
BookLearn phrases from the company's current work, taught by the dancers who made them.
BookA weekly class for teenagers who would rather move than sit still.
BookSix dancers, one van and a set that folds into it. New work and old favourites, in five cities this season.
Rehearse, shoot, teach or run a workshop. North light all day, sprung floors, and a kitchen that keeps the kettle busy.

“I came for the exercise and stayed for the people. Two years in, Thursday Floor & Release is still the best hour of my week.”
“I had not danced since I was nine. Nobody made me feel late. By week three I was improvising in front of strangers and loving it.”
“We rehearsed a whole premiere in Studio One. The light is unreal in the morning, and the floor forgives everything.”
“My daughter goes to Young Movers and now choreographs the whole family in the kitchen. Send help, and more classes.”
Snapshots from an ordinary week: morning class, a rehearsal running late, and somebody's birthday on the sprung floor.
Anything else? Write to us or ask at the desk — someone is there from seven in the morning.
No. Foundations and the Improvisation Lab are built for complete beginners, and most of our regulars started there.
Anything you can move in. We dance barefoot or in socks. The changing rooms have showers and lockers.
Up to four hours before class, and the credit goes straight back onto your pass.
Step-free entrance, a lift to both studios and an accessible changing room. Tell us what you need and we will prepare the room.
